This course will explore drawing as an act of passion, discovery, and creativity.  Meant for both beginners and seasoned professionals, we will explore the many facets of this foundational medium.  Over the course of this six-week program we will focus on observation and seeing, mark-making and value, composition and decision making.  Through exploring various techniques and mediums we will strengthen your ability to express yourself visually through the language of drawing.

Ben Saucier is an Artist and Illustrator based in Olympia, Washington.  His work has been exhibited and published across the United States.  He has taught Drawing 101 at Maine College of Art and studied Studio Art at Hampshire College, Ringling College, Maine College of Art, and The Alternative Art School.

A 6-week course, exploring drawing and its many methods and iterations. Classes take place weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6PM till 8PM.

This course will explore drawing and its many facets. It is designed for both beginners and seasoned Artists, with equal emphasis on observation and experimentation. During this six-week program we will explore shape, line, and value before moving to more complex concepts like composition, perspective, and the human figure. Together, we will experiment with different mediums, techniques, and exercises designed to strengthen your ability to express yourself visually through the language of drawing.
