Learn the Basics of Drawing, Sketching, and Illustrating

Have you wanted to learn how to draw still lifes and real-life objects? If you’ve always wanted to learn the basics and essentials of drawing, this class will teach you how to apply illustration techniques and basic concepts of drawing, along with how to put together and draw objects in daily life.

In this drawing class, you’ll learn how to create the basics of art, including:
Planes, lines, and shapes and how to develop non-representative artwork
Value and volume – providing a visible 3D look to your artwork, such as shading and shadowing
Mark making and lines – taking realistic-looking work and stylizing your art
Human form – find out how to live sketch and figure draw models in real-time
Art composition – how to organize your drawing to get the effect you want to achieve

In addition, you’ll learn how to critique your artwork and other artists’ artwork in a safe and nonjudgemental environment, find out how to use different mediums such as pencil and charcoal, and learn how to use an eraser effectively and adequately in your artwork.

Our once-a-week class for eight weeks art and drawing course explores drawing techniques and the fundamental tools and building blocks for drawing. You’ll also meet other budding and beginning artists, like yourself, so come and be ready to meet new people too!
